QUIZ on Friday Sept. 2
7th graders have selected their books to read independently yet we will employ reading strategies to hold students accountable for their reading. We’ll use the opportunity to go over informational text style of questioning and structure.
Students will choose a non-personal subject as the topic of their next biographical essay. Some of the same strategies and structure used for the classmate bios will be used for their non-personal subject bio. Homework this week will be on Tuesday involving research of their non-personal bios.
Objective: Introduce the concept of collage by creating a Vision Board.
Your vision board should focus on how you want to feel, not just on things that you want. It’s great to include the material stuff, too. However, the more your board focuses on how you want to feel, the more it will come to life.
There is only one major rule to creating a vision board that works, and it’s that there aren’t any rules. You aren’t going to mess it up, you can create your vision board on your own terms. Here are the answers to the most common questions people ask:
Q: What should I put on my vision board?
A: Anything that inspires and motivates you. The purpose of your vision board is to bring everything on it to life. First, think about what your goals are in the following areas: relationships with family and friends, career, home, travel, personal growth (including spirituality, social life, and education) and health.
